Utah man sir, a Utah man am I (or we)

It's finally here, the day we have all been waiting for since last football season!! Both Brett and I are avid Utah fans and were raised to bleed RED. In fact, when my brothers first met Brett, the first thing they all asked him was "do you cheer for Utah or BYU?" Well, needless to say he passed the test and then some! You may have even noticed Brett's favorite Utah hat in almost all of our pictures :) Today the Utes are on the road and will be playing Oregon State. We are just hopeful with the return of Brian Johnson that we will have a better season than last... GO UTES!

Piggies :)

So today I decided to try and put Haylee's hair in some pig tails. These past two weeks her hair has come in so thick, so I thought- what the heck! Here's a picture of the final result. They are just itty bitty, but I still think it looks so stinkin' cute :)
Oh yah, and she gave herself a nice scratch on her nose the other night. When her cousin Caleb (6 years old) saw her last night, he asked me if I let her play with a pocket knife! I said- nope, but sometimes her fingernails are just as dangerous!

Take me out to the Bees Game

Last weekend Brett, Haylee, our friends (The Ballards), and I all went to a Bees game. It was our first one of the season, which meant it was Haylee's first game ever! Luckily it was a nice night and Haylee was in a good mood! The Bees were down by three in the last inning, and then miraculously won by one point! It's a good thing we didn't leave when I wanted to :) Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a baseball game now and then! And I do enjoy the 7th inning stretch with a lovely rendition of "Take me out to the ball game," but when your team is down and it's past your baby’s bedtime, home sounds a little more appealing.

This is probably one of the few times you won't see Haylee smiling... She was getting a little tired right before we snapped this photo. And yes, for those of you who haven't seen me in a little while, I darkened my hair (who am I kidding anyway, I am not a natural blond:)

Happy Birthday Grandma Anne!

Today is my Grandma Anne's Birthday. For those who know my Grandma Anne, probably feel like she is your grandma too! She loves everyone she meets and is such a joy to be around. I have many many memories of sleeping over at her house growing up. Most of those memories are from when I was in high school! Her house was my second house! Today we celebrated by going to lunch with Haylee, Jason, Meghan, Jaxon, and Beka. I am so excited for Haylee to get to know this special lady and to bask in her endless love. Happy Birthday Grandma, we all love you!!

Lake Powell!

Brett, Haylee, and I just returned back from Lake Powell on Thursday. Oh, how I missed Lake Powell! Brett and I hadn't been there since before we were married! Both of us were worried about taking Haylee on a 6 hour car ride down to Page, AZ but she did awesome. She only fussed for a total of 10 min there and back! Luckily the car puts her to sleep :) We headed down with my family for a total of 5 days, the perfect amount of time to be gone in my opinion! As always, the contrast of the blue lake against the red canyon walls took my breath away! I think Lake Powell is a little piece of Heaven on Earth. It was nice just to be able to relax without having to worry about every day stuff- no cell phones, no alarm clocks (except for Haylee:), and no time schedule! Haylee loved the boat and didn't seem to mind her life jacket as long as she had a binky in her mouth! She also loved the water and would get really excited as soon as she knew we were taking her in. The water was just the right temperature and complimented the heat perfectly. It was great being with my family and we all got along just fine! Thanks Mom and Mark for a much needed get away!!
These are the only pictures I caught before my camera's battery died :( I am sure I will post more later as soon as I pawn them off my family :)

Haylee loved the little duckies!

On Friday night Haylee and I were flying solo because Brett had to wake up super early on Saturday morning for work. Since we had been sitting around all day doing nothing (I am sure you other mommies can relate:), we decided to hook up with my brothers and head on over to Boondocks! I am very familiar with the huge arch off of the freeway, but I haven't actually been there so I was excited to go. Right when we walked through the door and Haylee saw all of the lights and heard all of the bells from the game area, she was excited to be there too! If any of you haven't had a chance to go there yet, I would suggest trying it out!

Jaxon loved riding the boats with his Daddy!

Haylee loves being carried around in her Bjorne

Beka just looking cute as usual

Haylee loved watching the ball!
