All dressed up and nowhere to go...

The U of U bookstore has been out of their little cheer leading outfits since the season began. They finally got some in this past week, so Haylee and I headed up there to make sure she got one. Well, the Utes play Utah State today for their Homecoming game, but it's way too cold outside to take Haylee! Haylee's all decked out in her cute little outfit and can't even show it off at the game! So of course I had to take a quick picture of her and share it will all of you! Go Utes!

We're Pooped!

Ever since last Friday (9/14) Brett and I have been packing, moving, unpacking, organizing, and cleaning. Needless to say, we are pooped! We closed on our old house on Friday (9/21), which lifted a huge weight off of our shoulders. Now we are all moved into our new house and just working on getting everything put together. We owe a huge thank you to all of our friends, young women, neighbors, and family members for helping us with Haylee. She is a full blown crawler now and loves to get into and climb up everything, so packing was a bit challenging with her around :) We also had quite the moving crew going on: brothers, friends, and young men. I am also very lucky to have a husband who was willing to put in 12 + hours at work every day, then move our entire house in less than a week. On top of moving us, he even helped one of our old neighbors move for 6 hours on Friday, he's an animal!
Today we decided to attend our old ward for one last good bye. Boy was it hard saying good bye to all of our good friends. We are so very lucky to have so many young women in our ward who absolutely love and adore Haylee. I barely held her all day because she was being passed around to all of her other mommies! It's a good thing we didn't move too far away, because I wouldn't know what to do without my babysitters!
We are looking forward to starting our new lives here and absolutely love our new home. I already love living so close to work and the freeway! I am sure it will just take a little time to meet new friends and feel completely at home...

This is a really bad picture, but I had to snap one. It was getting dark and there were a ton of moving vehicles in the way, anyway this is our new house...

UCLA who?

Yesterday we were able to witness one of the best blowouts to ever happen at the Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah dominated UCLA!! The ending score was 44-6 for the Utes. And 6 points didn't come from a touchdown, but from 2 field goals, so UCLA didn't even step foot in the end zone. I don't know if it was by luck or talent that we won, but regardless it was the best game we have been to in a long time! GO UTES!!

SOLD!

We are proud to announce that our house finally sold! With all of the bad rumors floating around about the real estate market, we were worried about selling our house. Luckily once we got it up on the market, it only took 15 days to sell! But now for the fun part: packing up and moving out! Our buyers needed to get in our house by September 21st, which is next Friday!! Holy cow, we are trying to pack up 31/2 years of our lives in less than a week. So why am I blogging and not packing you ask? Well, I have been packing up our kitchen for the past hour and a half and Haylee has had enough of her walker. I am just taking a break so that she can get the wiggles out :) Wish us luck!!

Trip to Hogle Zoo

Brett and I were recently released from our callings in the Young Men's and Young Women's. For the past 2 1/2 years our Tuesday nights have been devoted to our wonderful youth! Well, since we had a free Tuesday night together as a family we decided to take advantage of it and head on up to Hogle Zoo! It's been something we have wanted to do all Summer but never got around to it. We couldn't have picked a better day! The weather wasn't too hot, there wasn't a line to see the white alligator, and we got to see the 3 week old monkey :) We weren't sure if Haylee would even acknowledge the animals, but we were wrong! She stared at all of the big animals in awe! She even made friends with the baby orangutan! We put her up to the window and the orangutan came right over to her! She thought that was pretty neat and started banging on the glass. We left right in time too! As we were strolling Haylee out to the car she zonked right out. To end a fun evening out we went to one of our favorite (or most frequently visited) fast food restaurants, Wendy's! We had no idea that Wendy herself was going to be there, so we had to snap a picture :)

A trip to the Zoo wouldn't be complete without an ice cream!

All tuckered out

First Home Game

Although the Utes haven't started out the year on a great foot, our family still had fun together at yesterday's game. It was the first home game of the season and Haylee's first time up to the Rice-Eccles Stadium! She was all decked out in her red and white attire! For those who know Haylee won't be surprised to hear that she was screaming (for joy) and clapping the whole game! As soon as someone would clap around us, Haylee was right there with them. She also kept clapping after the game was over, in the car ride home, and her last clap was right before I laid her down for bed! Needless to say, I think she had as much fun as we did :)

To top off a fun night out Haylee started to crawl when we got home! She just went a few little steps (for lack of a better word), then stumbled on her tummy, got up and did it all over again. She hasn't gotten any better today, but is sure determined!!

Getting Ready...

Yesterday I was getting Haylee ready for church and Brett snuck up on us and snapped a picture! What I love most about this picture is I was oblivious that Brett was behind me with a camera, but Haylee was well aware that her Daddy was taking a picture! Just look at her smile behind her binky :) Brett also had to take a picture of the final product! When I saw the skirt that Haylee has on it reminded me of a ballerina tutu, so of course I just had to buy it for her :) She looked like a little princess all day!

Here's a little update about what's new with Haylee... She has finally figured out how to clap with her hands open (she used to do it with her fists). She just loves the sound that it makes! She is also playing peek-a-boo and she waives hi and good bye. She isn't crawling quite yet, but gets up on her knees and rocks so it should happen soon. Haylee will be 9 months on Sunday and she still hasn't cut a single tooth yet! She will probably get them all at one time at the rate she's going! Oh well, I guess we don't have to worry about cavities yet :) Haylee also loves to play with little kids! She smiles and tries to talk to the kids at my work's child care! Haylee is also very lucky to have 3 girl cousins very close to her age! Emersyn is 20 months, Keili is 9 1/2 months, and Beka is 6 months old. I can already hear all of the squealing that will be going on at their Grandparent's house!
