Thanksgiving madness!

Yes, that's right I said Madness. While Thanksgiving is a time of year to reflect on things you are grateful for, I sit and think about my wonderful husband who has worked his tail off this past week! I am so very grateful for a hardworking husband! When you are in the bakery business one of the busiest times of year is Thanksgiving. People order pies, rolls, frozen rolls, orange rolls, and frozen rolls and more rolls. They order much more than that, but Brett is responsible for all of the orange rolls and frozen rolls. He starts gearing up well into October for the frozen rolls, but the week before and week of Thanksgiving I hardly see him because he works so many hours at the bakery. When Brett and I were dating we started a little tradition. The night before the big holiday rush I would bring Brett dinner and help him bag stuff. Well, this year I had a little partner in crime. Haylee and I brought Brett dinner last night, then it came time for me to help him bag stuff. Oops, I forgot the walker! I decided since it was late and we weren't going anywhere afterwords that Haylee could just crawl around. She had a ball getting into all of the piles of flour :) Anyway, I just wanted to thank my hardworking husband for everything he does for our family around this time of year! One holiday down and one more to go!!

Haylee's First Haircut!

I know it's a little crazy, giving an 11 month old a haircut, but you should have seen Haylee's hair. That lucky girl has quite the head of hair. Most of it fell out when she was about 4 months old, but it came back in really thick. The parts of her hair that didn't fall out were getting way too long and out of control. If I would have let it grow even longer, she would have ended up with a baby mullet. Besides, she is going to be having her 1st birthday in a few weeks and I wanted it to be cute for her pictures :) I tried to take some pictures, but it was a little challenging, because there wasn't anyone there to take the pics and I had Haylee sit on my lap while I fed her a sucker :)

the fabulous after picture!

Shower Time!

This past Saturday all of my friends got together for Brittany's baby shower. It was a blast! It was held at Natalie's new home, which is beautiful I would like to add! My good friend Brittany is having a girl on December 28th (or so:) and I am so excited for her. All growing up I was the only girl and loved not sharing things. But, now that I have a little girl that is all I want because they are so much fun! I actually wouldn't mind one boy, but that would be enough :)
Thanks everyone for such a great afternoon!

Bathing Beauties

The other night our niece Keili came over to play while her parents were moving. We understand how "helpful" a little one can be, so we were more than happy to help out! Besides, Haylee loved playing with her cousin! The two little girls had so much fun together! And when it came time for Haylee's bath, we thought- what the heck, there's room for one more! Haylee and Keili loved bath time with a buddy! They splashed and laughed and fought over each others wash cloths and rubber duckies :) I love the fact that Haylee has 3 little girl cousins all close to her age. They are all going to have so much fun together growing up!!

Happy little fishies

Too bad Keili wasn't having any fun (wink, wink)

4. brownies
5. fruit smoothies
5 bad habits:

2. interrupting people in a conversation
3. picking my nails- not nose!
4. not refilling the T.P. if I was the last one to use the last square- Brett would also agree with this one!

Tag #3 (The Rules: Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags six people and posts their names then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. I am not going to do the last part- sorry!)
1. I am a very strong willed person and I base it off the following: Since I was the only girl in a family of 5 I had to learn to hold my own. Boys can be pretty ruthless, so I had to show them who was boss! The other thing I base it on is my size. I am only 5' 1.5" (yes, I have to add the 1/2 inch!) so whenever I go somewhere, people always think I am a little girl and butt in front of me in line. At a very young age I had to speak up and tell people that I was standing there first, so they will have to wait their turn! That is just one example, but you get my point...
2. I never get ready for the day until Haylee is finished with her morning nap. While she is sleeping I have the opportunity to catch up on my shows, read emails, blog, clean... So, once she is awake, which is sometimes after 12:00, I shower and get ready!
3. I love to cook, but I am the messiest cook I have ever met. Somehow I manage to make a mess on every square inch of my counter tops. If Brett and I were to make the exact same meal the kitchen would look spotless when Brett is done and look like a tornado just came through when I am done. I don't know what it is, but I am just messy!
4. I have worked at a fitness center for over 4 months now, but have only been there to work out 4 times! I am such a slacker! I am trying to get in a better routine, but when I am not at the club working, I just don't think to go there to work out!
5. I love making crafts. If I see something, like a frame, pillow, table runner, etc., but can make it for less money I will figure out how to make it myself! Then when I am finished I feel satisfied that I was able to do it on my own.
6. I require a lot of sleep. When we first brought Haylee home she had colic and acid reflux. She wouldn't go to sleep until about 2:30 am, then would wake up every 3 hours to eat. I pretty much thought I would never survive! I need at least 8 hours min. to feel good the next morning. Luckily Haylee sleeps 10-11 hours strait, so now I feel like I can be a happy wife and mommy!
That's all folks! Thanks for hanging in there if you read it all! I will try and do better this next week at posting!!

Halloween Festivities

The last three days of October were quite eventful for our little family. It all started on Monday night at Grandma Lucy and Grandpa Steve's house. Since Halloween is way too hectic, we got all of the cousins together on Monday to see all of the costumes. What a bunch of crazy kids :) Haylee and Keili are finally to the age where they actually acknowledge the other kids. Keili also loves Haylee! It's so cute! She follows her, grabs her, and gives her kisses. Haylee just goes along with everything :) Tuesday night we just stayed at home and carved the pumpkins we bought from the Pumpkin Patch! We just stuck Haylee in her diaper and let her play with pumpkin guts and seeds. At first she would only touch it with her finger, but then she finally got brave and dug right in! Brett made his own pattern, I used one out of a book, and we tried to make Haylee's pumpkin look like her- big smiley face with no teeth and a bow! We got more positive feed back than negative feedback from trick-or-treaters about Brett's pumpkin :) And of course Wednesday was Halloween, so we just stayed at home, handed out our traditional glazed doughnuts, and took Haylee trick-or-treating for about 5 min. Haylee loved looking at all of the kids that came to our door! She also didn't mind her costume! Here are some pics that we took this week...
All the girls!
All the cousins
Keili loving Haylee :)
Our little lamb
Carving Pumpkins

The Carvers
Happy Halloween!
Haylee and her best friend Jakelle before Tiffany and I took them trick-or-treating
Digging in her bucket!
Grandma Pam came to visit and was dressed up like a kitty!
That's all we got! It was a really fun Halloween for us this year and both Brett and I loved experiencing Haylee's 1st Halloween with her! Next year will be a little better, because Haylee will actually be able to say "trick-or-treat" and eat the candy!
